Inauguration of the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Forum of Kebumen district
Placed in Kebumen Candi Sari Hotel On
Tuesday 25 March 2014, The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Kebumen
district, Central Java held the inauguration of the Disaster Risk Reduction
(DRR) Forum of Kebumen district. The inauguration was conducted by the District
Secretary of Kebumen, who is “exovicio” The
Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Kebumen district
This inauguration was attended by
representatives of all DRR stakeholders in the district from government, the
private sector, non-governmental organizations and civil society organizations.
The most interesting of this forum are Representatives also included women's
group representatives (INDIPTH) and
disabilities NGO which is called DIFA.

Mrs. Irma and Mrs. Iin as they familiarly
called are the founder of NGO DIFA. They always initiate inclusive school for disabled
children, and concern to “TKW” protection. In this forum they also suppose to
support inclusive DRR program. In other
chance they said that in the disaster everyone are rentan, but the disabilities
had more because lack of information asses and their handicap. In disaster management program they wish disabilities should not be care as objects
of charity, but rather as active contributors to society, so they should be had
role.

As the Chair of the DRR Forum is Mr.
Ahmad Sahli, Ir. He is both retiree from Dines Pekerjaan Umum, and Red Cross
volunteer. He was appointed as chair in
very democratize election.

In his speech, Mr. Aid Pandoyo the
district secretary said that as volunteer we have not to discriminate the disaster victims. It is impossible we
save victims only someone specific religion.

The
Disaster Reisk Reduction Forum organization structure, was signed by Mr. Adi Pandoyo. It is very important because the DRR Forum
would be serve as a partner of government in planning, implementing, and monitoring
risk reduction activities in Kebumen, so they have to be confidence playing their role.

Some
body hesitate tat the forum would be blank institution, and it just name
without any activities. However this
statements was faced by Mr. Budi Satrio.
He said that let’s proved with our effort and activities. It is not depend on The
Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Kebumen district (BPBD) but on we all. I’m sure with all the members of DRR forum we are the
eager for helping others, especially disabilities people.
